Although your student visa does not allow you to work on a self-employed or freelance basis while studying, our START UP team team can help you explore the option of working for yourself once you've graduated. You can access support, advice and contacts to get you ready.

While you’re studying at Newcastle, you’ll have access to a range of in person and online workshop delivered by our careers team.

Visas: What you need to know when applying for graduate roles in the UK

These are monthly sessions run in partnership with the visa team. You’ll find out about immigration routes into employment in the UK and have the opportunity to ask questions.

How to find a part-time job in the UK (for international students)

This session is repeated several times in September and October. You can come along or attend online to ask questions and find out about:

current part-time work regulations and entitlement
where to look for jobs you can do while you study
schemes we run to help you find part-time jobs
